Temps fell a little bit again
today. Oh, I hope I'm pregnant this month! Really though, at this point
all I want is either a positive pregnancy test or to start AF so that we
can try again. I thought I was cramping earlier, but no blood.
Eric told me that he prayed for me to be pregnant. I asked him who the
prayer was for, and he said for both of us. Quote: "I want a daughter."
Awwww...melt my heart.
Spent most of the day working on my thesis, like a good girl. That's
boring, though, so I won't make you suffer through that. Instead, I bring
you a chat I had with my little brother.
Cory's a junior at West Virginia University, and he's so busy with band,
dorm stuff (he's a Resident Advisor), and classes, that his love life is
suffering. The poor dear is currently infatuated with a young lass who
doesn't return his affections.
For the record, I am MacinWidow and Cory is TheBigSmoothie.

TheBigSmoothie: I'm behind on RA programming
TheBigSmoothie: behind on RA 1-on1's w/ my kids
MacinWidow: Buy some books and have "Floor Story Time"
TheBigSmoothie: in a VERY LONG holding pattern w/ this girl
MacinWidow: Holding patterns are better than nosedives
TheBigSmoothie: not the ones that last for months
TheBigSmoothie: 2 1/2 months now

MacinWidow: Not a date in that time?
TheBigSmoothie: no, we go out on the weekends

MacinWidow: You can't expect much more than that unless you're in
classes together
TheBigSmoothie: she's an RA
MacinWidow: Then she knows better than to expect more!

MacinWidow: If she's worth it, you'll wait.

TheBigSmoothie: we see each other a lot during the day, and almost every
night, but...nuttin

TheBigSmoothie: we kiss on the cheek & hold hands, but that's it!
MacinWidow: Oh, take a cold shower!
TheBigSmoothie: I said I'm not talkin sex
MacinWidow: So whaddya want? More frequent dates?
TheBigSmoothie: yes, and to be exclusive
MacinWidow: Is she dating somebody else?
TheBigSmoothie: oh there's competition alright!
MacinWidow: Maybe she's old fashioned, and wants you to ask her to be exclusive
TheBigSmoothie: NO, she doesn't
MacinWidow: And you know this....how?
TheBigSmoothie: we've had long talks: she's "not looking for anything right now"
MacinWidow: Is she worth trying to convince?
TheBigSmoothie: Oh, Lord, how I've tried
MacinWidow: What makes her worth the effort?
TheBigSmoothie: she's so DAMN CUTE! and she (I know) cares about me.
We've gotten into several long conversations
MacinWidow: So she's a good friend. Does she have to be more?
TheBigSmoothie: doesn't HAVE to be, but...aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
MacinWidow: I know, I know.
MacinWidow: She's not looking for anything because...she's too busy?
TheBigSmoothie: yeah, that's one excuse
TheBigSmoothie: also protecting herself as well as me
TheBigSmoothie: she's had MANY relationships--most of them bad
MacinWidow: Protecting you? From what? Aren't you a big boy?
TheBigSmoothie: so she's scared
TheBigSmoothie: I used those exact words
MacinWidow: Tell her that your sister says you're harmless.
MacinWidow: If you want, though, I'll write you up a letter of recommendation.
MacinWidow: "Cory is a fine young man of solid integrity...."
TheBigSmoothie: that'd be great
MacinWidow: "To my knowledge, he has never beaten a kitten."
TheBigSmoothie: well...
MacinWidow: "And his mommy wuvs him very, very much."
TheBigSmoothie: yeah, that'll work
MacinWidow: "So please, please, PLEASE be the mother of his future children.
His genes are Armstrong-guaranteed!"

To the lady in question, in case she's reading: my brother is a fine human being. He is
possessed of a delicate heart, but he keeps that disguised until you really get to know him.
Please, don't hurt him before you get the chance to find out just how easy it would be to
do so.
