Picture Me Moving

For this month's Wordgoddess collab, we were to take pictures of a day in our life. While this may not be exactly representative of one of my average days, it certainly was worth remembering. There were so many pictures, I had to split them up over several pages; click on each on for the full-sized image.

(Please excuse the poor image quality; our current temporary setup has me reduced to using Microsoft's photo editor. Oh, the horror.)

I woke up at 6:20 in the morning because my hand was itching. My stress rash, dormant during relaxed periods of my life, hasn't been quiet now for about a month. It itches, it stings, and it just plain hurts.

I stumbled into the bathroom...

...and washed my face, clearing away the layer of dust that seems to have settled there from the large amount of cardboard boxes in the house.

I traipsed downstairs to check my email and download a few pictures from the camera. My head was aching, so I left the lights off and prayed to God that Sam wouldn't wake up yet.

6:41 - Sam came tripping down the stairs to start his day. For him, that involves a good nurse. This was one of the few calm moments of the day.

At 7:18, we heard Eric's alarm clock blare out incomprehensible radio signal at full volume. Sam went back upstairs to investigate. He hung out with Daddy for a while, until about 7:30, when Eric left for work. Bye-bye, Daddy! (He always stands at the window to watch Eric pull away.)

Then it was time to get ourselves ready. First Sam, then me. We were running a little late for our appointments for the day.

Oh, it's too hot for makeup. I don't wanna!

I heard Sam doing something strange in the bedroom, so I peeked in at him. He was on his belly on the bed, mumbling "Guck!" ("Stuck!") When I got closer, I realized that he was trying to rescue a car behind the bed using a pole, just like he'd seen us do before.

A little water tamed Sam's baby mohawk...

...and then we were outside. I packed up the car with more boxes while Sam played on his sliding board behind me.

When the car was as full as I could get it, we climbed in and headed out. Back on schedule! The radio was playing Morning Edition. Since we hadn't had time to eat yet, I stopped at the gas station to grab some quick convenience store breakfast.

Keep going
