Let me count the ways.
- Got up and ran this morning at 5:45 AM. (Had a running buddy this time, another woman from the family club, which made it nice.)
- It was a nice day, so I decided to take Gabe and walk Sam to the bus stop, only I accidentally locked us out.
- Good thing I had Gabe with me instead of leaving him watching cartoons while I walked the block with Sam, huh?
- Also good that I happened to take my cell phone with me.
- Walked forty minutes to Eric’s work to get house key, since he rode the bus to work this morning and therefore couldn’t drive the key to me.
- It was forty minutes because Gabe’s legs are short, and he got tired pretty quickly but was too heavy to carry the whole way.
- We wound up walking with/being followed by a very strange young man who kept babbling about how he was the only person his friend trusts to walk him home and how he wished he could go to the “good,” um, “school,” where he could go to group counseling whenever he liked.
- Took the bus home, thank God.
- Cleaned up the living room, despite Gabe’s loud protests and active resistance.
- Made lunch.
- Am currently mediating Gabe’s battle with his fork, because all foods must be eaten with flatware, including mini-pretzels, and the consequences of failing at this are severe enough to warrant yowling and howling every time a pretzel shatters rather than allow itself to be neatly pierced…
Calgon, take me away.
Plus, I’m waiting to hear back from Alysia, who shot me two very-skimpy-on-the-details emails that lead me to believe that she might be in Chicago right now, but Chicago is a very, very big place, so I can’t just go and hope to find her, but she isn’t calling me back to tell me anything, and AAAAAAARRRRRGH!
Bad day.
