Dishcloth Swap Survey

This is just the required survey for participation in the dishcloth swap. Feel free to skip it; it’s nothing fascinating. ![]()
1. Do you knit, crochet, or do both?
I primarily knit. I can crochet, but I don’t find it nearly as relaxing or satisfying, so I only do it once in a blue moon.
2. What types of needles do you enjoy using for making dishcloths?
Whatever’s free of a project at the moment! (I have horrible tendencies to have a different project going in every room of the house.) Eric just brought me back from new Orleans some lovely new wooden straight needles (I’m too lazy to get up and check the brand, but it wasn’t one with which I was familiar), so I’m eager to put them to use. Much of the time, though, I knit on circulars because they’re the “safest” with kids running around who might be prone to rip projects off straights.
3. What types of cotton do you enjoy using for making dishcloths? Is there any that you’ve been wanting to try?
I have no preference, honestly. I use anything from the cheapest stuff at Michaels (hey, you don’t wear dishcloths, so I don’t get snobby about them) to more expensive recycled fibers. I’ve been doing a lot of knitting for babies in cottons, and the leftovers are often the perfect amount for a dishcloth or two.
4. What color(s) are your kitchen and bath decorated in (if any)?
My kitchen is neutrals with some green accents. My bathroom disgusts me and will be repainted, when warm weather comes back, in warm tones – reds and browns.
5. What are your favorite colors for yarns? Least favorite?
I am very fond of vivid colors of every hue. Pastels don’t often turn my head. For some reason, since running in the Komen race, I’ve had a new penchant for pink, but my favorite colors are still reds and greens.
6. Do you like Winter, or do you count the days until it ends?
It needs to end now.
7. What’s your favorite way to brighten your day when you’re down in the dumps?
Often, these days, it’s to go for a run. I also like to call my best friend on the phone for a nice chat, since I miss her so much.
8. What is your favorite treat to indulge in when you’re down in the dumps?
The darkest chocolate I can find.
9. Do you drink coffee? Tea? Cocoa?
Coffee for pleasure, tea for business. (In other words, I prefer coffee, but I’ll drink herbal teas for specific health purposes when I need them.)
10. If you could take a vacation starting tomorrow and go anywhere for one week and money were no object, where would you go and what would you do?
I’d pack up myself and Alysia and head for someplace sunny. I don’t care where that is; I’m just heading blindly to get away from winter.
11. Do you have any allergies or aversions your pal should be aware of?
No aversions, but I do have allergies to animal dander. Don’t freak if you have pets, though; just let me know with a note so I don’t rub the cloths on my face before rinsing them.
