They’ve upgraded tonight’s weather from “snow” to “blizzard”!
Frankly, when they’re already telling me that we’ll be getting wind chills of more than thirty degrees below zero, the amount of snow blowing around out there doesn’t matter much. Of course, I think the upgrade was probably due more to the “blowing” bit and not just that we’ve gone from expecting one inch of snow up to possibly three inches. Fifty mile-per-hour winds? Dude.
Weather.com is making me giggle, though.
“LIQUID WATER WILL FREEZE VERY QUICKLY AFTER THE PASSAGE OF THE FRONT.” As opposed to the other kind of water?
“TEMPERATURES WILL PLUMMET AT LEAST 45 DEGREES” – You have to love action verbs. “Plummet” paints a much more vivid picture than “drop.”
“IF CLOTHES BECOME WET…THEY SHOULD BE CHANGED FOR DRY ONES.” Oh, so that’s what we’re supposed to do! No wonder my kids shiver uncontrollably all winter long!
Pinewood derby is supposed to be tonight, but nobody’s responding to my emails about it… (EDIT: As of a few minutes ago, it’s still on!
)
Pinewood on a school night? How many kids are in your pack? We do ours on a Saturday (this Saturday, in fact) because it always takes about 2 or 3 hours to get finished!
This will be our last year — my youngest is a Webelos II, so that will be that. End of an era.
Did Sam ever get working on his car, or did he supervise Dad as he expected?
About forty cars raced last night! It went from 5:30 to a little after 8.
Sam did as much as we could get him to do, which was mostly decorating. The sanding looked like a kid did it, which was as it should be, probably.
