It’s the little things that annoy

When I first began losing weight, the first place I noticed my wardrobe “malfunctioning” was in my pants length. As I decreased my girth about the midsection, I suddenly began tripping over my cuffs with much greater frequency.

Today I had to begin rolling up my sleeves. What the heck, man? I didn’t sign on for limb reduction.

Oh, and I have really got to get to a lingerie store, stat. My bras are suffering some serious containment issues – as in, they’re not. I have no idea what size I am now, and I need somebody to tell me. I fail at Measuring 101. (Plus, I really probably can stop wearing my nursing bras now that there’s nobody in the house needing the utilitarian side of those. Every time I put one on, I hear Tim Gunn scolding me.)

I can’t wait to be able to get a real bra someday.

I’ll come and do a fitting for you. Did you know that I’m trained in that, though it seems like a lifetime ago. A great bra is a good thing.

How many “sizes” are you down, in general clothing I mean?

You could try this site out, it’s what I use to figure out bra size.

I used this site to figure out my bra size. I ordered four different kinds of bras from them, and the last one I tried on was absolutely perfect. For the first time in my adult life, I’m wearing a bra that FITS. It’s amazing! :)

I think narrower shoulders and arms require shorter sleeves! Good luck bra shopping. Someday, I’ll get in for a real fitting. It’s been so great watching you transform (I’ve been reading since Sam was in utero); you inspire me. Now, I just need to get off my duff.

Sandra, I don’t think I’m doing it correctly; the site keeps telling me I don’t need a bra! Trust me, I do… ;)

Robyn, your site tells me I’m a 32D, which I really don’t want to believe, since that sounds sort of strippery. I don’t think I’m still a D cup, though I was while nursing. I’m also not sold on the 32 part – don’t think I’m that small yet.

See, guys?! I can’t measure for anything!

I’ve gone now from a 18W-20W to what’s probably a 12 (my 14′s are falling down, but I haven’t tried on anything smaller yet) and a size medium.

After I lost my pregnancy weight and was no longer breastfeeding I took the plunge and spent the money on some “real” bras. I went to Nordstrom. Granted, they were not cheap (~$50 per) but the customer service and fitting was the best I’ve experienced.
