I don’t think I’ll make it to the gym this morning. I’ve got muscle achiness from being a little too gung-ho with the weights yesterday, and if I combine that with snow shoveling and then a bunch of running, there’s no way I’ll wind up being much good company on my date tonight with my husband. (Woo!) Priorities matter, you know.
I’ll run tomorrow morning instead. Eric’s doing breakfast with a friend, so there’s no reason I shouldn’t take the kids to the gym for the morning, anyway.
Still, I have to get out of the house today, anyway; I have to make sure the car tires are inflated properly (why, oh, why do our tires lose air every day?! Getting tired of this, but there are no actual holes that anybody has found, multiple tires on the car do it, and it happened on Eric’s last car, too) so we can get to our dates tonight (and tomorrow!), we need a few things from the grocery store that are cheaper there than through Peapod, and I’m going to go get measured for new bras. I will, therefore, have to shovel, and I’m not looking forward to that, but at least it’ll help make up for the missing run today.
Winter is good for buff-looking shoulders, here in Wisconsin.
In other news, Sam signed up for the school science fair today. He seemed interested while a bit dubious as Eric and I explained what a science fair was, until Eric said, “…and there are the usual stock experiments that kids your age do. Build a volcano with vinegar and baking soda, set out a piece of bread and watch it mold…”
I said, “Buy some crickets and see what kind of junk food they like best!”
Sam jumped on that one like it was a trampoline. “Yes! Let’s get crickets!” Eric agreed, so now we’re going to have boxes of crickets sitting around the house for a bit. If any escape, I swear, I’ll be in the corner, beating myself in the head with a sledgehammer. Also, I’ll be needing earplugs at night for the duration of the experiment.
Aren’t I bright?
When this happens to me, it’s due to dented tire rims from hitting potholes. You can get them replaced.
woohoo, new bras! v exciting….and yes, we’ve lived through live crickets in the house…it is for a good cause, but it made my skin crawl just thinking about them (made my way to you via the beer you left for Jennifer
