Race for the Cure!

I’ve had a couple of donations! Thanks to Monique (is that you?) and Sean!
Sort of inspired by Karen (another redheaded southeast Wisconsiner who did the Couch-to-5K thing and lost a bunch of weight - almost creepy that we haven’t met, come to think of it…), I was wondering whether I could do something proactive to raise more money for the Komen fund. I’m not afraid of the word “bribe.” Karen must have more willpower than I do, since baking dozens of cookies sounds like a good way to impact my finishing time even more than my dollar amount.
I’d knit, but since it takes a lot longer for me to knit something than to bake, it’s probably not realistic to expect to be able to create something for each person who donates - especially since I optimistically hope to see a whole bunch of sources! Warm weather turns me off to knitting, anyway; it’s been weeks since I picked up needles.
Ideas rattling around in my head. Look back later for more details! ![]()

Karen’s good inspiration.
She’s been inspiring me for a while now, and between the two of you, it’s working: I am starting C25K tonight, before my yoga class.
And both she and Tasha (the person she’s running in honor of in Napa) are 2/3 responsible for me meeting Sean the night that I did. (Tasha and Sean were in town for Karen’s wedding, and Tasha wanted to keep me company the night my divorce was final, and we met up with Sean, and the rest was history!).
[the other 1/3 responsible party was my ex, who sold something to Sean, which is how I started talking to him online the week before I met him, so I would have met him the next week anyway.]

Aw shucks you guys.
If anyone needs me, I’ll be over here blushing!
(The strange thing about the cookie offer? Hasn’t done much of anything for my fundraising.

Yep, that’s me! i did the 2-day Avon walk back in May and when i saw you were doing this i had to support you. you’ve done so well with the running and weight loss - i’ve been sneaking around the past few (5-6?) years and am just so proud of you! you really are an inspiration and this is such a wonderful cause. so, from those of us still sitting on the couch, thank you and good luck!
