Flexibility is good for the soul?

Gabe mutinied against going for a run in the jogger today; he wanted to go to the gym to see his friends. Well, okay, then. It’s not worth the battle, regardless of how nice and cool it is outside today. And it is precious to see him go in and immediately start chatting with other boys his own size (he doesn’t talk much with girls, other than the babies). They’re still at the point, mostly, where their “conversations” are mostly just taking turns saying whatever comes into their heads, regardless of how it relates to anything the other kid is saying.
This way, I can do more strength work, anyway; I’ve been doing my longer runs in the gym this week, simply because I didn’t feel up to doing them with the stroller, and that hasn’t left me much time for weights, once I factor in stretching and shower time (two-hour slots in the childcare room).
Eric comes home tonight around 7 or 8 o’clock!
So happy about that! I’ve missed him fiercely. So has Sam, and Gabe totally took advantage of that this morning to try to get him out of bed before he was really ready.
GABE: “Sammy! Get up, get up, time to get up…” etc.
SAM (yawning): “Is Dad home yet?”
GABE: “Yes, he is!”
SAM (instantly awake): “Wahoo!”
ME: “Gabriel!”

I know that feeling. It’s not been that long since I saw Sean, but I will be very very happy to see him around 7:30 this evening when I get to Chicago.
