Is it bedtime yet?

GABE: “Get out, Sam! Get away from here! I’m the kid who’s special, not you!”
SAM: “We’re both special, Gabe.”
GABE: “No, you’re not! Just me!”
It’s been tantrums, tantrums, tantrums from him, all day long. He is driving me up a wall.
“Noooooooo! I don’t want a nap! What if I want to speak with you?” Oh, honey. Speaking wouldn’t be a problem, but you haven’t “spoken” in about six hours now. One more shriek, and my eardrums will wave the white flag for good.
EDIT: And then I had to take them to Walgreens so I could get an ACE bandage for my foot (how do I always lose the clips for them?), and it was a complete disaster, with me on crutches, Sam struggling valiantly to push a cart, and Gabe running amok. I actually had an elderly lady pat me on the shoulder and say, “God bless you,” which I think was shorthand for “…because something else sure seems to have cursed you.” ![]()

Maybe she was duly impressed with your patience.

Or maybe she thought it was good you were on crutches, gives the little guys a head start
I am so sorry to hear that your foot is hurting you still, and on crutches to boot. Uck.
Any planned trips to see the Dr about this foot pain?

Good gravy. Here’s to hoping the trantrums settle down, and soon.
Also, I second the “any planned trips to the doc” question. Maybe I missed it, but is the foot swollen? This doesn’t sound good.

Made an appt. with the orthopedic office. I don’t know what they can have me do that I’m not already doing, though: resting it, icing it, compressing and elevating. I had the crutches from a long-ago injury, and since the general rule seems to be “if it hurts, don’t do it,” I’m keeping as much weight off it as I can.
No swelling, and I can’t even replicate the pain by squeezing my foot. It’s only there when it’s weight-bearing.

I hope it’s better soon, sounds extremely frustrating. Have you got a physiotherapist? That’s where I’d be heading.
