More errands and driving

Oh, the places to go today!
1. The music store, to have Sam’s violin fixed. (He dropped it last night, and the bridge popped out.) This is in the town to the north.
2. The college, to return my borrowed music. This is between us and the town to the south.
3. The YMCA, to register for tomorrow’s Turkey Day Run. This is well into the town to the south.
4. Grocery shopping and church, both in this town (unless Eric comes up with needed items for tomorrow that I need to pick up at specialty stores, most of which are in the town to the south).
With all the Jackson-mania going on around here this morning, it’s been a two-coffee morning, and I still feel sort of dazed. I haven’t even been able to think for more than a few minutes about the Thanksgiving meal tomorrow; of course, Eric does the cooking, but he sort of likes input from the family about what to make. So far, there’s this:
1. Ham. (It’s just easier than trying to fight the boys into eating roast bird.)
2. A Cornish hen for Eric and me to share. (I couldn’t bear going without a little taste of bird on Thanksgiving!)
3. Scalloped potatoes, maybe?
4. Um…
5. …
6. …
7. I think there’s a frozen pumpkin pie in the basement.
So there’s that. Eric, for serious, if we need ingredients, and I know we do, call me with them; I don’t want to wait until the really-really-honest-to-God last minute to shop (as opposed to just the really-really-last-minute that we’re at about now).
