Trip-ups

I burned holy heck out of the pork chops tonight.

I couldn’t find Cracker Jacks at the store (they’re our family’s traditional New Year’s treat).

I also couldn’t find fatback for Eric, who’s embroiled in a sausage-making extravaganza at a friend’s place right now and who really needed it for the sausage to be “right.”

I bought a bag of cookies, and most of them were broken.

It’s been nice for days, but tomorrow, race day, will see a high of 15 degrees, and there may be some snow and ice on the ground once more.

Runner’s World sent me a calendar I did not want or order, and they tried to bill me for it as though I had. (Apparently, old hat for them.)

Gabe just threw a very loud fit over nothing, intentionally broke a Lego structure Sam had been building, hit me, and declared that he hated Christmas and Santa Claus and me. (Early bedtime, son…)

I think I need an early bedtime, but with Eric being busy at work on those sausages and Sam both not having earned himself an early bedtime and hardly being amenable to the suggestion of a voluntary one…I’m stuck. :(

    I’m sorry. ::hugs::

    I’m having one of those weeks myself. Bleh.

    When are you heading to state fair park? Is the whole family coming? I’m ridiculously excited about racing, even though a: I will be last and b: it will be cold.

    I’ll be there around 11, I think; I like to have plenty of time to warm up, get my stuff, etc. :-)

    Gonna be freezing! I was just out brushing away some of the snow from the driveway. Brrrrr!
