So, say you found a dress. It’s on sale, and not for what’s on that website; no, it’s been marked down several more times, and it’s now less than $20. There are two such dresses in the store, and one of them happens to be in your size.
You love red.
The dress fits well.
You really don’t have many occasions to wear a dress like this. Not like you can stand with the choir in front of the church on Sunday mornings with only one shoulder covered. But…red. Pretty. Cheap.
Where am I going to wear my new dress?
(I even got a new bra, since I didn’t have any strapless ones that currently fit. That, too, was on clearance, drastically reduced, and fits very, very well.)
It gives you a good excuse for a night out with your husband. Find someone to take the 2 kids for a few hours and go enjoy being a ‘couple’ something a lot of people forget to do
It seems that it was all meant to be. And it seems Valentine’s Day–the day of Red–is only about 5 weeks away. How interesting that this is all falling into place….does Eric believe in fate?? Maybe he should use all these coincidences to take you out to a nice dinner where he can show you and this dress off.
You go on a lovely date with your husband! And wear a shawl over it to church.
You don’t even need Valentine’s Day (although the color is perfect).
Any of these reasons are suitable for going out:
*The kids are back in school!
*It’s inauguration day!
*The snow melted!
*It’s Superbowl weekend!
*It’s Georgia Day! (February 12).
*Pitchers and Catchers have reported for Spring Training!
*It’s a Carrie and Eric date night!
*Only 9 months until New Moon hits movie theaters!
*Heck-who-needs-a-reason night!
GORGEOUS! If you don’t have a date night planned already, you should give Eric a private showing of the dress some evening after the boys are in bed, and then I bet he scurries to plan one!
date nights, done fancy.
That dress is very pretty.
I can not wait to see it on you! (I don’t have to ask for photos, right?).
Gorgeous dress! Last year I bought a beautiful chocolate brown chiffon dress. I saw it in the store, and didn’t buy it. I went back a week later and it was still there. I paid $12 for it! Have I ever worn it… no… but when the time comes I have a dress!!!
buy the dress!!!!!
Get a sitter, and go out to dinner! Doesn’t even have to be an expensive dinner…you could go to a moderately priced Italian or Mexican restaurant in that dress. Just make Eric dress up, too.
And have a cocktail before dinner. That’s always an occasion for dressing up.
The subject line rocks so hard, girl. Ha ha.
I agree with everyone else, get it.
I keep saying that we need grown-up prom…and not something that involves tickets for >$100/person.
That dress is hot. Get IT!!!
can’t wait to see the pics of you in it! Its an awesome looking dress! My hubby would love if I had a dress like that and I’m not even skinny like you!
Valentine’s Day, absolutely. Get a sitter and get Eric on the stick.
And seconded to whoever said throw a shawl over it for church. Shawl, cashmere cardigan, small bolero, whatever. That’s one hell of a dress and if you can work it, then I say WORK IT.
If you’re going to always regret not getting it, get it. That’s my logic.
You know that saying, “leap and the net will appear?” I think the same thing applies to clothes. Get it.
RAWR!
