Sammy-ism

SAM (talking about school): “Joshua told me that Ms. P. was mean, but she’s not. She’s nice! He just probably never met her.”
ME: “Sam, you have the ability to see the best in people. Not everybody does.”
SAM: “She really is nice.”
ME (hesitant): “You know, some people have trouble seeing that…”
SAM: “Yeah, bad kids. And parents who think that their kids are always right. That’s just wrong.”

Sometimes I feel blessed by this kid, beyond words.

What a good kid…I predict that he will go far with that sort of wisdom and awareness of how people behave.

I’ve stood by my statement for as long as I can remember, and I’ll stand by it again as to my feelings on Sam’s future vocation.

Seriously. I know NO other seven year old boy with his level of sensitivity and humanity.

  3. Sarah says:

    Wow.
Is this the teacher that made him sit with her ?

  4. Carrie says:

Yes, it is, Sarah. Sam has a much more graceful spirit than I do.

  5. hannah says:

uh, my amen was to what Sam said, not to what you said
After I hit submit I realised it could read as if I was in agreement with your assessment that you aren’t as gracious as Sam.

  6. Carrie says:

    I understood. ;-)

What is this kid – 70!? Seriously, amazing child. I really don’t think age even always brings such insight, you are blessed, as we are, for your sharing.
