- One foam Cheesehead, preferably for $10 or less. The marathon has a special starting corral for folks wearing them, and while I’d like to do that, I don’t intend to wear it for much past the starting line. I have no confidence in being able to hand it off, either, so I don’t want to pay the $20+ that most stores want to charge for something that I’ll be chucking to the curb. Cheapest I’ve found so far has been $15.
- A few extra hours in tomorrow’s morning, in which I could comfortably meet up with Karen after picking up my race packet and before heading back to Racine to picnic with Gabe’s preschool class at the zoo. Probably meet in the evening instead, but I don’t like shaving packet pick-up time so close to the end…
- A more comfy stool than the one on which I’m currently perched. Had to run to the store before hitting the coffee shop today, and a couple of guys beat me here and to the two easy chairs I prefer.
- A way to keep the iPod Nano from locking up, as it’s now doing a few times a week. At least it comes back each time with a reset, but still.
- A decision:

Both are tested and comfortable, and at this point, I’ll probably be pairing either with a short-sleeved shirt and the lightweight wicking jacket I picked up at Goodwill for $4 (also tested and comfortable) that I won’t care about tossing to the side if I get too warm. I’m leaning toward the shorts, myself, but the skirt is cute.
- A club over my head for forgetting to pick up umbrellas at the store while I was there. D’oh!
- A hug from Alysia, whom I’m missing lately.
- My husband back home, safe and healthy and smelling of warmth and sunshine.

Good luck this weekend!!!
I voted for the skirt. Not only are you going to be fast, but you should look cute, too.
We won’t be there until afternoon anyway, 3 or 4pm most likely. PP goes to 8pm! Lots of time.
I will be wearing spandex shorts, because though my skirt(s) are cute and comfy, my caboose has expanded a little in the last three weeks and no one needs to see that much skin.
I’m a girly-girl at heart, but I voted for the shorts. It just seems like the cuteness of the skirt should be saved for, say, a 5k (hard for me, easy for you), when you can FEEL cute, as well look cute. I would imagine you will be feeling many things at the marathon (strong, tired, crazy, ecstatic), but when I see clips of people crossing marathon finish lines, it’s hard to imagine any of them are feeling cute. Then again, maybe that’s just ’cause they weren’t wearing a cute skirt…
