Get in mah belly

Feeling weirdly, exceptionally hungry today. This is odd, since after a few days of eating very well, last night I actually ate more than I have been, and I had red meat after several days of no meat at all. This morning, we were out of steel-cut oats, so I had Kashi waffles and a bowl of multigrain Cheerios with fruit instead of my more frequent bowl of oatmeal…and then, after pushing Gabe in the stroller to the farmers’ market, I suddenly felt like I was going to collapse right in the middle of the neighboring health food store. Shaky hands, sudden hot flash, dizzy head, chattering teeth, the works. Grabbed a quick Clif bar (boy, was I in the right place?) and ate that, then sat over a cup of coffee for a bit until I felt steady enough to walk back home. Now I’m sitting here feeling better…but hungry. Still hungry. Lunch time can’t come quick enough! (For the record, leftover split pea soup and chilaquiles. ;) So good!)

We have an old dead car in our driveway that’s been there for pretty much forever, embarrassingly. We keep meaning to have it hauled away, but it’s still got stuff in it. In my own defense, most of it isn’t mine…ahem. But I haven’t made any more effort than anybody else around here to clean it out, and I’m the one with the most time on my hands, so that pretty much eliminates that excuse. I’m feeling motivated at the moment, though! Today’s naptime has been thusly booked. Now, where’s the key to that darn car? Do I even still have one? (This whole confession has been more than a little humbling, but I’ve written about more personal things than this.)

Supposed to try to hit that Greek Fest tonight (like I said before, our only opportunity this year to do so), but they’re calling for possible rain beginning around six o’clock. Ugh! I was really looking forward to the Greek coffee, too. Well, fingers crossed.

Sometimes Magnus and I have what we call “double hungry days”. Sometimes they correspond to busy exercise days, sometimes they don’t. ( a heavy mental work day can cause them, too) Maybe that’s what happened to you? Maybe the increased protein from the meat bumped up your metabolism a bit?)

    I woke up STARVING today.

Maybe it was a rebound reaction to the carbs w/no protein at breakfast? I don’t do well if I eat carbs in isolation, but then I’ve been diagnosed with Insulin Resistance. Have a great weekend! I’ll be doing that c25k 20 minute run on Sunday.

I considered it, but went back and checked, and the waffles, the milk, and the Cheerios all had protein (about 12 grams, to 70 of carbs). It’s fairly comparable to what I usually take in for breakfast.

    Good luck Sunday! :D

My husband and I have been having those days lately, too. Don’t know what they’re all about, but we’ll just be STARVING all day. Hope you’re back to normal soon!

Last week you were talking about cycles being off. Now you say you’re dizzy.

    Are you SURE you’re not….

Perhaps you should get a blood test. I know HPTs aren’t always accurate, either way.

    Hope you feel better soon.

about the car. . . I wonder if you can donate it to a charity. They probably can use it in some meaningful way, and take it off your hands! And give you a receipt for charitable donation.
(Arc, or some such would probably know where to point you).
