No clue – but I do know during midwestern summers, I suffered mightily with heat rashes time and again as a child. I hope he is feeling better!

Both my kids had this last year… looks mighty like Fifth to me. With my two it started at the head and worked its way down the body to the feet. Lasted about five days all up. Cool showers helped.

Scarlet feels like sandpaper, and it shows up in the creases first (armpits, back of knees, etc.) Fifths would be more on the face, and bright red. I vote for other. Either something viral, or just plain heat rash.
