- Eric: sick. Sick since Saturday evening, actually, with something that sure is acting like Shigellosis (the illness du jour currently circulating in our county). Once he got past the initial, quite dramatically gross, onset, the fever has been the worst part. He’s at the doctor right now.
- Kids: kids. This is the last week of summer school for Sam. They’ll have two more weeks of playground program after this one, and then two weeks of nothing before school starts back up again.
- Me: in need of coffee and a girls’ night out. The latter especially.
- Upcoming events:
- Eric’s dad is coming to visit next week, which will coincide with the State Fair. Sam would very much like to go see Mercy Me when they appear at the fair, and we may arrange that.
- Dental Doom. I’m scheduled for a crown and the extraction. Yay, me.
- Possible visit from my brother…? He never made it up when he had originally thought to, and there was hesitant talk about rescheduling, but nothing has made it even to the “maybe” status on the calendar.
My brain feels too tired to string together words, for some reason.
Eric just got home, so I better see what the doctor said!
You all went to your fair Saturday. Were there any more cases reported in your county besides Eric. An illness epidemic only needs a crowd of people to spread easily. Which you had at your fair.
Lots of shigellosis being reported all over the county, apparently, but the doctor says he probably just has gastroenteritis (it’s not as bad as what other people are experiencing locally, it seems, although the shigella bacteria can manifest in a variety of ways and strengths).
I need a girls night too. You available this week? (I’ll be down for the count after this week as Im having surgery next Monday) Give me a call!!
I’ll call. I’m totally available.
