Green Bay, Day 1

Firstly, I live. ;) The dental extraction this morning basically went as follows:
1) They put a mask on my nose, blowing oxygen and nitrous.
2) They put a needle in my arm.
3) I woke up with gauze in my mouth and feeling a little sore.

Eric took me home, where I slept off the rest of the anesthetic, and he went to fill my prescription for Vicodin. So far, it’s worked really well for keeping away most of my pain, miracle of miracles. We were able to pack up and head to Green Bay a few hours later.

The hotel is awesome, and we got unexpectedly upgraded to a suite (yay for doors that close! Hurray for privacy!). There’s a whirlpool tub in the room, which happens to be down the hall from a tiny indoor waterpark. Now, it’s not like the massive entertainment complexes of the Dells, but it’s more than sufficient for our needs!

Tonight we went out to Old Chicago for dinner, which probably would have been more satisfying if I hadn’t had to restrict myself to soft pasta and soup. Maybe by tomorrow night, I’ll be up for something more textured.

The surgeon said I’d be fine to run again tomorrow morning, but I may switch it out for Thursday’s rest day, just to be on the safe side. Last thing I need is to give myself a dry socket. When I do go, though, I found a trail that I’m eager to explore.

So far, so good! Tomorrow: Bay Beach, perhaps?
