Flitty thoughts

In list form!

  • What’s the term for when you’re doing something, and then you see a gazillion people around you doing the same thing? It’s bizarre how when I’m biking I see bikers, and when I’m running I see runners.
  • Why are there a billion babies around all of a sudden? Was there a boom or something? Everywhere I go, there are carriers and strollers all over the place, filled with infants. In fact, one is staring at me right now.
  • Whenever I’m in a coffee shop lately, it’s all about balancing quality with quantity. Sure, I could get the fancy-pants pumpkin drinks with the trimmings…or I could get a plain mug, which they’ll refill for free. The latter usually wins.
  • Monday night, which means a nice dinner for Eric and me, except that I haven’t decided what to cook. My mind is completely blank, with no signs of striking gold anytime soon. Augh!
  • Yeah, I have things I’m supposed to be doing right now. Drawing blanks on those, too. I RULE.
  • This staring baby is really adorable, in a tiny Frogman sort of way. Related to the first thing I said, I actually dreamed I gave birth last night. Isn’t that supposed to mean something about inspiration and new beginnings? My brain still isn’t buying that. Maybe I need another refill on the coffee…
  • It’s incredibly windy and cold outside today; we had huge windstorms last night that took out power a couple times, and there’s still an advisory active. One of the coffee shop’s machines sounds like the tornado siren, so I keep jumping.
  • Gabe’s birthday is in a few weeks, and I really should get to planning it. He has Ideas, and they’re not small or vague.

….and I think I just drained the last bits of coherency from the recesses of my mind, summarizing that. Blarrrrrrrgh….

It is perfect stew or thick soup weather, if you have the time to make it. I’ve been craving chicken with wild rice soup for a week – since about the time it warmed up last Monday  Now I can finally make it!

You allowed to drink during your training? Wine and Martini’s this week? Next week?

Availability Heuristic- that’s the psychology term used when you notice something more because you are interested in it. Like how everyone is pregnant when you are or when you want to be, etc. Glad my college psych class can be of use to someone :)

    RE: “availability heuristic”

Wow, I love this nugget of info–thanks for providing it!

Maybe more babies around because of the recession? No one had money to go out and do things so they had to stay in and do things.
