I’m using this in my coffee this morning, after I found it at the coop grocery store yesterday. It’s pretty good! I don’t usually drink soy milk (I prefer almond milk, when it comes to alternative “dairy”), but I was in the mood for something seasonal, and you just can’t chug eggnog in any kind of satisfying way without feeling massive bloat and indigestion.
I also replenished my chia stash at the store, which had big jugs of it instead of the little baggies my local natural food store keeps on hand. Making a tiny pot of Irish oats for myself right now, all stirred up with a banana and the chia. Might add some pumpkin butter, walnuts, and a touch of the peanut butter granola I got for crunch. Mmmm!
Gabe was AMAZINGLY well behaved at the grocery yesterday, despite all signs going in that he wasn’t in the mood to be. Seriously, I grabbed a cup of coffee from the counter as I entered, and he was an absolute chimpanzee while I was trying to do that, but then we hit the customer service desk for the “kids’ surprise” before shopping, and he got a mango-flavored fruit leather, which…well, I bet they laced the thing with opiates or something. Not that I’m complaining. “Cooperative” doesn’t begin to touch his behavior for the rest of the time! He walked happily next to me, quietly pointed out interesting things on the shelves, and didn’t even flip his lid when I decided not to get the $20 wheel of goat cheese he thought would be delicious in his lunches.
Sam has “Pajama Day” at school today, but I don’t know how this will work, since all of his pajamas are thin flannel things, not up to withstanding single-digit temps. I doubt they’ll let kids head to the bathrooms to change upon arrival, either. Hmph.
Time to go wake Eric.
