Foggy brain

Despite multiple cups of coffee, my ability to think remains doggedly elusive. (I can’t brain today; I have the dumb.) I’ve managed to winnow out the following ideas, formed over the past several hours:

1) Children are very, very noisy creatures, as well as randomly violent.
2) Blowing snow is very pretty, unless you’re on an interstate highway.
3) Hotels with oatmeal and peanut butter are worthy of accolades.
4) Horses. (Nothing in particular, there, but there are an abundance of horse-related pictures and pamphlets around me at present.)

Christmas yesterday morning was a success and deserving of its own full recap, but that will have to come later, probably. Mmmmm. Actually, it might not, at that, since I don’t recall readily-accessible internet access being a theme at either Eric’s dad’s or brother’s houses, so…to cover Christmas in brief, then!

1) The boys each got electronic games: Gabe, a new Leapster (his old one was Sam’s and was getting buggy), and Sam, a DSLite. These proved excellent car trip facilitators.
2) Eric got me lots of lovely things, including a hydration vest(score!) and a new iPod Nano (I’d been using his after my old one decided it didn’t care for cold weather).
3) I got him lots of fun things, too, including tickets to see Jeff Dunham in February! He was totally surprised, which was a gift to me itself.

Pictures and movies coming later. Also gotten for the kids were Nerf guns, which we may live to regret. Now I have to get back up to the hotel room, so we can hopefully be back on the road soon!

  1. Whitney says:

John got some huge shotgun Nerf thing with a magazine that holds about 35 darts. We all take turns using it.

My parents got all of the grandkids Nerf guns for Christmas. Unfortunately none of them got to play with them as all of the “big” kids stole them and took them outside for a little live action Call of Duty combat. Next year Santa will remember that just because a boy is old enough to vote doesn’t mean he’s too old for the Nerf. ;-)
