Some days…

Remember how I said Gabe woke me up because his butt hurt? It’s getting worse, and he’s howling over it, but he won’t let me look at it (and he’s really rather strong and also determined), and Sam is on his way home from school, so we can’t leave, and there’s snow all over the place that’s made the roads terrible, anyway…

…and now he’s yowling that he’s “stuck in the middle of the stairs,” which presumably means he can’t walk up or down them, and he wants me to carry him. This, he’ll let me do, but if I even think of mentioning rash cream (I don’t even know if there is a rash, but it’s all I can suggest to him), there’s such drama as is not to be believed this side of Broadway. Help?

Does the poor guy just need to poop? My niece always said “my butt hurts” when she needed to drop the kids off at the pool.

That was my first thought, too. That’s what my daughter says when she’s constipated.

My little sister (who is almost 25–she’d love that I’m sharing this) used to say the same thing when she was constipated. “My butt hurts” and “It’s sharp!” or something similar.

    Good luck!
