Sometimes, it’s the out-of-the-blue things that make it all okay again, more so than anything you could plan. For me, it was yesterday morning, when I happened to come across a quite strange sighting for my next podcast episode (which, with any luck, I’ll get to upload by tonight).
I’m still bummed about Eric having to travel, but it’s just a sort of dull dread now instead of the sharp ache. He’ll bring me back more curry ketchup, which, I’ll allow, sounds just bizarre, but he brought me back a bottle to try after this past visit, and it is amazingly yummy. You’ll have to trust me.
Plus, I had a good run this morning. Step-back week, which means I only had to go for ten miles this time, and I pushed the pace down to about a comfortably hard 8:15 minute-mile for them. Of course, that meant that I felt mentally zonked by about twenty minutes into the choir rehearsal directly after that, but that’s okay.
Then I managed to get Sam to read nearly to the end of “Blue Dolphins” and write the intro to his solar energy paper with no voice raising or stress on either of our parts! (That shouting you might be hearing now is just “brotherly love” over Lego Star Wars on the Game Cube. It’s amazing how heated a purportedly “cooperative” game can become when the participants have differing ideas about which missions to undertake.) With any luck, I can get him through the planning phase for the paper’s body after dinner tonight, leaving the actual writing to be accomplished easily tomorrow. It’s not due until Thursday, so that’ll leave time for the poster-making, as well as for him to write his book report. Wow, I’m actually feeling optimistic about this! See? Told you my pendulum was back to normal!
Glad your mood is back up! I’m looking forward to the next podcast. I took your first few podcasts with me on my run today (I’m a recent Couch-to-5k graduate) and completed my first-ever 5k distance run. I’ve used music up until now, but ever since I’ve found my natural pace I’ve been trying to figure out how to quench the boredom. It kept me entertained the whole time, and not only that, I could have totally kept going after the finish. Hooray! Feelin like a rock star.
Aw, I’m glad you are feeling better about things, girl. ::hugs::
