It can be a sneaky, sneaky thing. Yesterday, due to circumstances, I wound up not drinking any coffee, and my mood went KABLOOEY by 4PM – along with everybody else’s, for some reason – resulting in mass hysteria and early bedtimes for all. Interestingly, the time between the sentencing and the execution wound up being some of the better hours of the day; Sam was “confined to quarters,” so he grabbed a book and read for a very long time, even yelling, “Hey, Mom! Reading is fun!“, and Gabe played happily and (mostly) quietly until bathtime. I, myself, wound up crashing unexpectedly at 7PM, when I couldn’t keep my eyes open on my book anymore.
Today will be better. I have faith. Also, I have a date.
Tomorrow marks thirteen years of marriage for Eric and me, and we’re going to relax and enjoy the evening together sans kids. Woo!
Upcoming week’s going to be rough. A total of about 52 running miles, about half of which will be centered on Saturday. (Still waiting to hear from Rachel to see whether we’ll do them with running club or on a trail.) At least the weather will break a little bit; somebody told me that this summer is supposed to be warmer than average, and I ATE THEIR HEAD.
Seriously, if I enjoy one thing about this place, it’s that summers don’t get hot, or at least not for more than a couple of weeks. Don’t mess with me, Wisconsin.
Oh, but we booked our Waterpark Hotel for when I’m running DWD. Somebody should be cool and splashy while I’m getting beaten up by rocks, bugs, and mud that morning, right?
congratulations on your anniversary! enjoy your date!
Aw, happy anniversary, girl! ::hugs::
Hey Carrie lets do the miles on the trail together!!
Happy Anniversary Carrie!
