Lov-eee You!

Eric hasn't been Sam's favorite person as of late. We've conjectured that perhaps Sam's a little upset with him for being away at work so much; he talks about him a lot during the day, but after an enthusiastic welcome when Eric comes home, Sam wants little to do with him. It's heartbreaking.

Today, as Eric was pulling out of the driveway, Sam, who was standing at the window, gave his very first unprompted statement of verbal love. "Lov-eee you, Daddy!" he yelled. "Lov-eee you!"

I almost cried.

Awwww!
Lexie (17 months old) tells us "i-auv-oooo", and of all of her sentences and declarations, it's the one that makes my heart feel like it's going to burst at any second.

What a sweet gift. Sam is adorable!
