Sleep
Why can't I just close my eyes and go to sleep? Why does every little creak and settling noise have to sound three times as loud when he's not here with me?
I'm so tired, but I just can't sleep.

Have you tried a fan for some white noise? How about a body pillow to snuggle up to?
I TOTALLY feel your pain over this. Everytime my hubby switches to the midnight shift (He rotates shifts), I cant sleep a lick the first week or so. I go through the same thing as you - every noise sounds like its a hundred times louder, I hear things that arent even there and so on. Unfortunately I dont have any solid advice for you. I have a sleeping pill I take (Ambien) for when I absolutely have to go to sleep because I have to get up really early for work the next day. Of course, with a toddler, every day is an early day for you and since you are breastfeeding, I know you have to be very careful about the medications you take. What about something like Tylenol PM? Its has tylenol and benadryl in it, so I think its safe for breastfeeding mothers. Either way, check with your doc and see if he or she has any advice for you. Getting sleep is crucial because lack of it can cause all sorts of bad things, not to mention an overtired (and often stressed) momma! Hang in there chica. :) I hope you can find something to help you get some shut eye! Hurry home Eric!
