Nativity, Sam-style

I was depressed today, so I decided to do a little Christmas decorating. While putting up the tree, I came across the little wooden nativity set that Mom got us last year.

I set it up on the coffee table, explaining (in a very brief, truncated fashion) the story behind the pieces to Sam. "See, this is Mary and Joseph! They were having a baby, a very special baby, named Jesus! See baby Jesus?"
"Baby Jee-sees."
And so the story went, with Sam much more fascinated by the animal figures than by anything else. When I finished, I left him playing with the figures while I continues to work on the tree.

A few minutes later, I heard a "Rrrrrrraaaawr!" from behind me, followed by some crashing noises. Eric, observing, said, "A donkey just decimated Bethlehem." Ah, two-year-old poetic license.
