On Rita
Please continue to keep her in your prayers, by the way; she's feeling okay, but the doctors have said that she probably has about four months to a year left, depending on how well chemo goes. She has another chemo treatment next month sometime, and after that they'll check her to see whether it's worth continuing. She says that she's hoping to see the leaves next fall.

Will keep her in my prayers. Any reason why they're not doing a more active approach with Chemo? Or is it just because (like you said before), she's older and not in good health to begin with? Just curious, because my dad's been doing chemo since the week after he found out he had cancer (3 months ago), and figures he's got at least another 6 months of it left... 1 session a week, either a 1 hr or 6 hr. They figure it might buy him another year, but who knows.
And really.. doctors are not gods and have no clue how long someone will live. I'm not just saying that to make you feel better, but it's the truth. It's kind of a case by case thing, you know? But I'll continue to say some prayers for all of you.
And I think it's great that Sam is "getting used to" the idea that his grandma is sick. Perhaps that will make the inevitable a bit easier for him to deal with.
