01/16/2002 Entry: "Dilemma resolved"
...and, after all the worrying and fuss-budgeting over whether or not to consign Sammy's clothes, my sweet husband arrived home last night, having read the whole debate, and said, "We should keep all his clothes."
Hah!
I bought a couple of smooshy under-bed bags at K-Mart to store them. I'm just relieved that the matter is resolved, at least for now.

I know all about having no storage. We have none and therefore Ethan's closet and our closet is jam-packed with stuff. But my opinion is to keep whatever you can "just in case" you become pregnant unexpectedly and financial burden would be a lot less. (I'm thinking of a storage unit just to store his walker/swing/etc!) It's a tough decision even though to many it may seem simple.
But do whatever you deem appropriate and things will all work out for the best. If you're afraid of keeping too much to be obvious of hoping for another little one, you can also excuse it to be for your grandchildren or helping friends out with their kids (kind of like swapping clothes with friends).
And even if there aren't any more kidlets for your family, I would also suggest going through all of them at that time and taking out your favorites and make Sam a kind of hope chest of clothes/bibs/booties/shoes/accessories that you can tell him stories of for him to keep and share with his family.

If you've got the space, there's nothing wrong with keeping 'em all. When you're ready to let them go (be it that the sentimental attachment is gone or that Sam's sibling outgrows them), you won't feel at all torn over it.

I've kept one or two of Sean's most adorable outfits (including the little cap from the hospital), but we consigned most of them to the local shop.
