03/18/2002 Entry: "Zoloft"

zoloft (4k image)

So, Zoloft. I'm supposed to start tonight, taking it after I nurse Sam to sleep; it's reported to be safe for nursing, but I'm timing it right before the longest stretch of no nursings, just in case. Since it might cause drowsiness, that's a good time to take it anyway.

The Zoloft commercials with the little bubble-man always made me giggle. Now I get to be him. Will I start chasing ladybugs in a few weeks?

hope this helps..... :) also, give it time... I saw in your journal entry the dr. said it could take 2-4 weeks to kick in and that's TRUE!! Prior to getting pg. when I was taking Wellbutrin, it took over a month to kick in -- I was getting very discouraged, but it was worth it once it worked, so be patient with it! :)

I hope it makes you feel better! I tried Zoloft for a while and the drowsiness is usually only a temporary side effect, thank goodness.

i took zoloft for a while a few years ago and it really helped me a lot. it took less time than they said to take effect on me and also didn't have any of the possible negative side effects. here's to you feeling better!

That sentance was supposed to say "I know how hard it is to ask for help." Serves me right for not previewing!

I'm so glad you finally got to see the doctor! I know how hard it is to I hope the Zoloft works for you. My doctor prescribed me Celexa because it's similar (our insurance didn't cover Zoloft) and I noticed a difference right away. I haven't seen any change in Evan since taking it, except I think I am a better mom because of it. And I feel so much happier, calmer and it makes it easier to enjoy every moment of the day. Good luck sweetie!

Here is hoping you feel like chasing the lady bug :)

I have a feeling it will help you, it did wonders for my sister. I take Paxil, and I have found a 360 degree turn around with myself. Be strong and have faith in yourself, you will do great!

Carrie,

Good for you for going to get help. That's not an easy step to take. My mom recently began taking Zoloft, and she says it's a gentle way of feeling better. The drowsiness did affect her for a bit, but now, she says, the world seems much lighter.

All my best to you.

Carrie, do you take a B-Complex?

I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on television but I know my B Vitamins help me when I'm in the throws of PMS.

Ask your Doctor. It might be helpful.
