04/11/2002 Entry: "Rambunctious"
Thanks for all the comments and the email about my mother's situation. I know she's probably handling this much better than I am. I wish I could be as positive a person as she is, and most of the time I succeed. Moments like these, though, reveal my true colors. I hate that.
Sam's helping me feel better, though. He's refusing to sleep (naps are so passé), but is being a ray of light regardless. He's decided that his toy piano works much better as a travelling instrument, and he's pushing it about the room like a walker. He also trapped me out of the house this morning; when I went to put a letter in the mailbox outside our front door, he crawled quickly to the door and pulled up on it. I couldn't open it without making him tumble out, face-first onto concrete. He thought it was a hilarious joke, pounding on the glass and giggling. Finally I managed to open the door and catch him as he fell.
What a great kid. Ten months in less than a week!

Don't be so hard on yourself, girl! I think your reaction is way more common than your Mom's, and there's nothing wrong with either. Maybe it's the wisdom that comes with age, but I dunno - I think I'd be pissed off no matter how old I was!

Hurrah for healthy Moms and happy babies!
(That's all I had to say. Amazing how news like that can make you incredibly happy and hopping mad all at the same time, isn't it?)
