04/22/2002 Entry: "Bo!"

I was just playing downstairs with Sam while Eric (home sick from work today again) went upstairs to lie down. After about half an hour, Sam crawled to the foot of the stairs, pulled up on the baby gate, and shouted, "Bo! Buh! Bo! Buh!" Over and over he shouted it, shaking the gate and staring at the top of the stairway.

Finally, I called Eric. "Somebody wants you, I think!" He came to the top of the stairs, and waved and smiled down. Sam grinned and shook the gate. Eric tried to go back to bed, then, but Sam wasn't having any of that.

"Buh! Bo! Bo!"

Finally, chastened, Daddy came downstairs as summoned. Appeased, Sam went back to happily chewing on his computer cables.

You know, reading stuff like these posts is making me long for September like crazy. I wish humans didn't have to wait nine months to give birth!
