05/31/2002 Entry: "Yoga"
In the category of "Annoying, but hysterical," Sam just played a great bit of comic relief. I decided to get out my old yoga tapes and give them another go. I was just beginning to work up a sweat when Sam, who had been playing with his toy car nearby, decided to "help."
I was in Downward-Facing Dog (on hands and feet, bent upwards into an inverted "V") and my legs were just beginning to tremble; Sam suddenly pushed his big riding car under my lifted stomach - and parked it. I yelped, and he giggled. I guess I looked like a good garage to him.
Perhaps tomorrow the workout will go better.

How cute! I mean, I'm sure it wasn't all that cute at the time, but...

My kids think it's funny to put their remote control cars on the treadmill with me. I think that kids naturally find exercise to be a bit silly, since their idea of physical exertion is to do fun stuff, and yoga and aerobics and treadmilling are decidedly non-fun, at least to them.

I've completely given up trying to exercise with the kids in the room. Just when I'm getting started, someone invariably decides to sit on me. :o)
